The Secret to Writing Effective SLO’s: Workshop Recording

Last night we held the first ever ‘AOE Online Workshop‘ entitled “The Secret to Writing Effective Student Learning Outcomes.”

In this workshop I shared some tips and tricks to writing quality student learning outcomes, shared some specific samples for all age levels, and even provided a easy-to-follow formula to help you write your own SLO’s. Oh, and of course I also shared what NOT to do, based upon my own experiences… I really don’t want you make the same mistakes I did when my team wrote our SLO’s a few years back.

Didn’t hear about this workshop ? – This first one was actually an opportunity exclusive to ‘AOE fans’ so if you want to get ‘on the list’ to receive future insider information and updates on the latest and greatest in Art Ed, you can sign up to receive our newsletter updates right here.

We don’t want to leave you hanging, so today we are providing the Workshop recording for everyone, as well as a PDF handout of the entire presentation. Feel free to share this information with your colleagues and art teacher friends, too.

Download the handout  of the presentation right here.

If you want to dive deeper into writing your Standards (SLO’s) we cover this topic for an entire week in our Designing Your Art Curriculum Online Course, complete with matrices to download and feedback from your instructor to help you write the BEST outcomes possible for your curriculum.

Learn more about AOE Workshops, and when you can catch the next one, right here.

Are you writing Standards or SLO’s? What questions do you still have?

Speaking of SLO’s, has anyone written “Student Learning Objectives?” We were given a brief overview, but I know this will be different for art, so I am just looking ahead. It sounds like we will need data to prove meeting the objective by the end of the year. Thanks for any input. I will also post a question on the Ning page.
