Our Favorite Holiday Art Parodies for the Art Room

Around the holidays it can be fun to use Holiday Art Parodies in addition to your regular instruction. Looking at these (and comparing them to the original) can provide a nice art criticism activity AND fill in some of those strange shortened class periods, early outs, and snow days that can happen this time of year. You could even have students make their own parodies as a digital project if you are feeling ambitious and have the time.

The six parodies below are some of my favorites to show and talk about.

Don’t they make you chuckle?

Looking for more? Pinterest has tons of boards with Art Parodies along with this page from IAD with some fun ideas.

How have you used art parodies with your students? Tell us how.

Which ones are their favorites?
